The Hoover Tower Carillon can be heard throughout campus each Commencement as it is played to celebrate the graduates and their accomplishements. A Stanford graduate himself, Dr. Timothy Zerlang, will continue the tradtion this year with two performances from the tower.
No tickets are required. The carillon can be heard from any location on the main Stanford Campus.

Dr. Timothy Zerlang received his Doctor of Musical Arts in keyboard performance in 1989 from Stanford University and is a Lecturer in Piano and University Carillonneur at Stanford. Locally, he has served as organist at Grace Lutheran Church in Palo Alto since 1984, where he is also director of the Chancel Choir and the handbell ensemble, Praises Ring. He has served as Executive Director of the El Camino Youth Symphony and the Fremont Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Zerlang has twice been a featured artist on the St. John Cathedral carillon concert series in Spokane, WA, was a featured organist in the Festival d'Avignon 2000, and has performed in Washington, D. C. and in Ottawa, Canada.
