Thank you for your interest in Stanford’s 129th Commencement Weekend. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing uncertainties surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, including state and local guidelines regarding large gatherings, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone this year’s celebration. We know how deeply disappointing this is, especially for Stanford’s 2020 graduates.

We strongly believe in the value and importance of celebrating in person, and we have committed to holding an on-campus Commencement celebration for 2020 graduates at some point in the future. The timing and format will depend on the evolution of the COVID-19 situation. We also plan to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating students in June 2020, though we will have to do so at a distance.

We greatly appreciate all of the feedback and ideas that students, their families, and members of the community have brought forward. This input will help shape our plans as we work with student leadership and other community members to design a meaningful celebration. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through the details. We will update this site and be in contact with students and family members as the celebration takes shape.
