Graduation Gear at the Stanford Bookstore
Academic attire is required to participate in many Commencement Weekend activities and is available to rent or purchase from the Stanford Bookstore. The vast majority rent regalia, and those who regularly participate in Commencement exercises, such as faculty, may opt to purchase.
Regalia Rentals
All graduates and faculty are required to wear a cap and gown (regalia) to process in the main Commencement ceremony and Baccalaureate celebration. Regalia is available to rent online through the Stanford Bookstore beginning Tuesday, March 5. The deadline for students to order for campus pickup is Wednesday, April 17. The deadline to order for home delivery is Monday, May 13. Note: To guard against continuing delays in the supply chain, we recommend you place your order as early as possible.

Attend the Grad Fair at the Stanford Bookstore
Join us at the Stanford Bookstore Grad Fair on Tuesday, April 16 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m and Wednesday, April 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to find everything you need for graduation. Pre-order your rental regalia, order your personalized graduation announcement packages, save up to $500 on your Stanford ring, enter to win prizes and gather important commencement information from representatives from several campus departments and various other organizations.
Regalia Purchase Options
The Stanford Bookstore is the only authorized and licensed seller of Stanford regalia. Faculty and regular Commencement participants often prefer purchasing regalia, though renting is available. Custom regalia is exclusively for purchase. In partnership with Jostens, the bookstore offers standard and custom Stanford regalia. Orders for this year's Commencement should be placed by April 26th.

Choose from three PhD gown options and one for Masters. Packages include gown, tam/mortarboard, and a classic hood with degree-color velvet and satin lining in school colors.

Custom doctoral gown package features a custom fitted official Stanford University gown with school crest embroidered on the front, doctoral hood with degree-color velvet and satin lining in school colors, tam, and garment bag/hanger.
